Ms. Rookard is the current District 3 representative and Chair of the Douglas County Board of Education. In her full-time profession, she serves as the Senior Program Manager and certified project manager for a global engineering firm. Her role is multifaceted and expands across program/project management, external affairs and staff leadership. She manages budgets, schedules and scopes for multiple ongoing projects, ranging from $200,000 to $4.5 million, on a range of transportation, land and water/wastewater engineering projects. She is the primary interface with clients and collaborates with technical teams to craft innovative solutions for stakeholders. She leads financial reviews and works with teams to forecast, track and comply with municipal and federal requirements.

She also serves as the public lead representing her firm at community, corporate and governmental events.

In addition to these roles, Ms. Rookard is also uniquely known across the state and country as a master historian, author and expert researcher. She has curated historical exhibits for the state of Georgia, serves on their liaison history board, and has research permanently archived at the Georgia Archives, the Georgia Historical Society and the Smithsonian Institution. Ms. Rookard is a certified project manager who received a BA and conducted her MBA coursework at Alabama A&M University. She is a proud wife, mother and member of the West Georgia (GA) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated.

Ms. Rookard was elected Board of Education Chair in January 2017.  Ms. Rookard is in her third term which began January 1, 2023 and ends December 31, 2026.
