Wish List
Our partners frequently ask for current needs
within schools. Please visit the Wish List regularly to see how you can help make our schools even better.
Financial Donations
Cash or check donations are always requested and allow PIE to purchase exactly what is needed for specific students or schools. Checks should be made payable to PIE and mailed to Ruby Byers at the Douglas County Chamber of Commerce. PIE is a community organization under the local chamber, though it does not receive operating funds from the chamber or the school system. Financially, it is a stand-alone organization dependent upon community fundraisers and partner support.

Virtual Engagements
Virtual engagements help keep our partners and students safe during the pandemic, but they also equip students with 21st century skills needed for the workplace. Virtual guest speakers can connect with classrooms via Google Meets.
Here are a few virtual engagement options, but with the wonders of technology, possibilities abound!
Elementary school level
: Partners can record themselves reading a book.
Middle school level
: Partners can record themselves doing a
how to
(like planting) or a challenge (using x, y, and z for supplies, build a bridge and test how many pennies it can hold), and then give a lesson abut the
how to
or challenge.
High school level
: Partners can record themselves talking about their career, education/training required, starting salary, or video a discussion panel talking about the profession, etc.
