Posted on 07/25/2018

The Douglas County School System Program for Exceptional Children has announced its intention to destroy special education records of the students who were born between:

September 1, 1995 thru August 31, 1996.

The records are no longer needed for education planning purposes and will be destroyed September 1, 2018. The permanent record of attendance will be maintained at the Murray Educational Center (formerly known as the Central Office Annex West). The Douglas County School System will make the Special Education records available to the student or parent (with student’s signed permission) upon request to the school system’s Special Education Records Department. Also, if you have graduated with a general education diploma and have special education records, you may pick these up prior to the age of 22.

To request inactive Special Education records call 770-651-2316. Please give at least 24 hour notice to have records ready for pick-up.

Identification will be required to receive these records.

Thank You,

Program for Exceptional Children
