The New Manchester High School Symphonic Band has earned a prestigious invitation to perform at the 2026 Minority Band Directors National Association (MBDNA) Invitational, scheduled for April 2–4, 2026, at the Lassiter Concert Hall in Marietta, Georgia.
This distinguished event showcases excellence in music education and performance by featuring select ensembles from across the nation. The New Manchester High School Symphonic Band is among a prestigious list of featured ensembles that includes top middle school, high school, and collegiate programs from Georgia, Arkansas, Tennessee, Maryland, and more.
The band’s selection is a testament to the hard work, talent, and dedication of its student musicians and staff. Representing Douglas County and the state of Georgia, New Manchester will perform alongside ensembles such as Jackson State University, Florida Memorial University, Cambridge High School, Cordova High School (TN), and many more.
The MBDNA Invitational not only recognizes musical achievement but also aims to highlight the contributions of minority band directors and programs in shaping the future of music education.
