Color our wolrd

Studies show that students who read 5 books over the summer don't lose literacy skills over the summer. It is highly recommended that students read over the summer, and the Color Our World Summer Reading Program will make this reading FUN AND REWARDING! This program runs until July 31st.

Here's how it work.

  1. Visit the West Ga Regional Library site HERE and register for the Summer Reading Program.

  2. Read books and log your minutes read in BEANSTACK (download the app if you haven't and login with your school information).

  3. Attend the different Summer Reading Programs throughout the summer (optional). Look at the events calendar on this website for time and locations of events.

  4. Register for rewards at various stores.

  5. Redeem your rewards at any DC public library, participating businesses, and at Turner Middle School when school starts back.

What can you earn for reading this summer?

Books-A-Million- free backpack
Pizza Hut- free personal pan pizza
Panda Express- free kids meal
Chuck E. Cheese - free game coins
Nothing Bundt Cakes- free small cake
Turner Middle School- 1200 minutes will get a prize and be entered into a drawing for a grand prize! The top reader in each grade level will also get a prize!

What should I read?

Here are suggestions for students to read over the summer organized by grade level and genre. However, you can read whatever you want! The important thing is to read and log your reading in BEANSTACK!
