Ikyra Robinson

Dear Turner Middle School family,

I am delighted to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the new principal of Turner Middle School! I am thrilled to join such a dedicated staff and community that makes Turner Middle School a great place for students to learn and grow.

My name is Ikyra Robinson, and I bring nearly twenty years experience in education, with a strong passion for academic excellence and personal growth. My educational journey includes pursuing a Ph.D. in Educational Management at Hampton University, a Master's in Special Education from Grand Canyon University, and a Bachelor's in Biology from Alabama State University. Throughout my career, I have worked in various educational roles, including as Assistant Principal at D.M. Therrell High School in the Atlanta Public School System as well as Director of Women in STEM at The Weber School.

At Turner Middle School, my goal is to build upon and continue the culture of excellence and achievement. To do this, I will work alongside our exceptional Turner Middle School staff to provide an outstanding educational experience for all our students. I believe in building a positive school culture that celebrates student success in all areas, promotes positive growth, and values the talents and contributions of every student.

I also believe that open communication and collaboration are essential to student success. I encourage all our parents to engage in their child's education and take part in our school community. Throughout the school year, you can expect regular updates from me on important events, academic celebrations, and extracurricular meetings. I will share this information through our school newsletters, SchoolMessenger emails, and updates on our school website. I also encourage you to attend school activities and functions, because your involvement is critical to your student's success.

Families, I am excited and grateful to embark on this journey with all of you. I look forward to getting to know all our students and families. Please contact me at ikyra.robinson@dcssga.org if you have questions or want to introduce yourself.

Please have a wonderful, relaxing summer, and I look forward to seeing everyone in the fall.

With Gratitude,
Ikyra Robinson, M. Ed
Principal
