Alexander’s girls’ track and field team is coming off a third-place finish at state last year and is 
looking toward the gold medal this year.
They won the county championship recently with 173 points.
Coaches Jimmy Sorrells and Jeremy Williams highlighted several key returning athletes during the recent Spring Sports Media Day.
Ella Beverage competed at state last year in the discus and returns for her senior season.
Cortney Adams, another senior, competes in the 400- and 800-meter runs and placed at state last year. Adams has already signed with Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey where both of her parents attended.
Senior thrower Kinsley Williams has signed with Georgia State University and will compete in the shot put and discus.
Emily McDonald, a sophomore, is one of the Lady Cougars’ top distance runners. She placed in the top 10 at state in cross country and will compete in the 1,600, 3,200, and possibly the 3,200 relay.
Sisters Anabelle and Aubree McAdams both competed at state in the pole vault last year and return for their senior seasons. Aubree McAdams is also an 800-meter runner who ran in the 3,200 relay last year.
