Sixty Chapel Hill Elementary students were recognized recently at a Georgia Swarm professional lacrosse game for their great character and work ethic through the Stars of Honor program.
Chapel Hill students including Character Education Students of the Month, Student Ambassadors, Be the Voice students, CNN News Crew members and students selected by their homeroom teachers for good character and work ethic were awarded four free tickets to the March 30 game and received a standing ovation after being featured on the jumbotron.
Chapel Hill counselor Elisa Vaught said the recognition came about after the Georgia Swarm reached out to metro area schools as part of their commitment to recognizing students with strong work ethic and character.
Additionally, Swarm co-founder Trevor Taylor provided four tickets to all Chapel Hill staff so they could enjoy the game and cheer on the students.
"Most of our students and staff that attended Stars of Honor had never experienced a lacrosse game,” Vaught said. “It was so much fun and our students felt very special to be honored at the game for their hard work and great character."
