School Resource Officer Alyssa Jackson

Three district staff members were recognized by The Trinity Center, a nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing trauma experienced by child victims of abuse and their non-offending family members by providing a central, child-friendly environment where children can feel safe while receiving the services they need. Sean Roach, Coordinator of Health Services; Fhara Walker, Lead Social Worker; and School Resource Officer Alyssa Jackson were honored with the award. Their dedication and advocacy reflect the district’s commitment to ensuring students are safe, valued, and cherished.

The district is honored to have such amazing staff members. “The unwavering dedication of Mr. Roach, Coordinator of Health Services, and Mrs. Walker, Lead Social Worker, reflects the heart of DCSS—committed, compassionate, and determined to meet the needs of every student,” said Dr. Mitch Springer, Assistant Superintendent of Student Services. “Their tireless efforts behind the scenes ensure our students are supported, safe, and ready to succeed.”

Officer Alyssa Jackson, in addition to her daily responsibilities as an SRO, serves on the Community Relations Team and assists with investigations which requires drawing on specialized training in Child Abuse, Sexual Assault, and Evidence Collection. “I am proud to know that her work does not go unrecognized throughout the community,” said Chief Walter Williams of the Douglas County School System Police Department.
