Ben Arnold brings 20 years of coaching experience to his new role leading the Lithia Springs football team.
Arnold, who was an assistant coach at perennial state powerhouse Hughes from 2009 until coming to Lithia Springs this season, said he and his staff have been instilling their culture on the team.
"The biggest strength, I would definitely say, is their will to work," Arnold said at the recent DCSS Fall Athletic Media Day at Legacy Arena. "They're hungry. These guys are hungry. Every day they come, every day they work, they're so hungry. We're looking at really just extending and playing and getting them ready to play four quarters and all the way into that fifth quarter if need be. Just their preparation and their strength pretty much is their will to work. They're here every day, they're on time, and they're hungry for more."
Arnold highlighted several players who will be key for the Lions:
ATH De-Rick Pittman III
TE Brayden Paige
WR/RB Kaden Mitchell
MLB Harry Fulton
QB Justin Stephenson
WR/DB Deontavious Hill
WR/SS Shawn Williams
RB/SS Kaleb McMichael
The Lions open their season tonight at Lithonia.
