Douglas County Head Volleyball Coach Kelli Hornberger is excited about her team this year and the potential for a postseason berth.
After a rough 2024 campaign, she’s got 10 seniors, and some key newcomers who add height and should be difference-makers for the Tigers this season.
“Last year was a really tough season,” Hornberger said at the recent DCSS Fall Athletic Media Day at Legacy Arena. “We had a lot of young girls on the varsity team. We have all of our returners, and we've even gained some additional players. We've had a lot of girls who went off and played club throughout the off-season and gotten more training. And our goal this year is we're going to the first round state playoffs.”
Hornberger highlighted eight of her seniors:
RS Danielle Pearson
MH/MB Megan Hart
RS Tianna Maloy
Setter Kynedie Thomas
Libero Sabrina Wilkins
Setter Ava Zae Robison
Hitter Lauren Flemming
MB Chanel Je
