Chapel Hill Elementary School was filled with love and laughter during a recent celebration of its amazing Cheetah Grands.
A total of 128 guests attended the annual Grandparents Day celebration, which included a presentation from the PTA Cheetah Grands Committee, a special group of grandparents who dedicate their time to CHES.
Students presented personalized certificates to their grandparents, and families also had a blast taking photos in front of a special “Grands” backdrop. As part of the celebration, the school also held a special “Grands Raffle,” where lucky winners in each session took home a Cheetah Grand shirt and special gift bag.
“The event was a heartwarming success, bringing our students and grandparents closer together,” PTA President Kierra Williams said.
Students also got to walk through the Scholastic Book Fair with their grandparents, an experience Media Specialist Cameron Sheldon said is one of the best parts of her job.
“The pure book joy on the students' faces as their grandparents help them pick out books is unmatched, and I'm always so touched when they buy a book for the classroom, too,” Sheldon said.
