The LEAP Center recently honored the special bond between students and grandparents during its 
Donuts with Grandparents celebration. In collaboration with Ninth District Head Start, “students had a wonderful time enjoying donuts and bagels while creating unforgettable memories with their grandparents,” said Principal Dr. Lameshea Cranford.
Special guests also enjoyed learning more about the LEAP Program and the family engagement activities planned for the year.
Observed the first Sunday after Labor Day, Grandparents Day celebrates the important role grandparents and older adults play in families. The holiday encourages gratitude for their contributions, while strengthening the bond between generations, helping children connect with family history and the wisdom of their elders.
