Families recently filled the halls at Winston Elementary School for a night packed with frightfully fun literacy adventures. Students and families enjoyed trick-or-treating, completing spooky reading challenges, and winning books during the Haunted Book Walk.
The Douglas County Public Library’s Kristi Wilson sent shivers down spines with her spooky tales, delighting the audience with her suspenseful storytelling and surprises.
Visitors also cast their votes in the Pumpkin Book Character Contest, admired glowing artwork in the “Glow in the Dark” display, and tiptoed through the eerie Literary Graveyard. The evening wrapped up with thrills and laughter on the Halloween Obstacle Course, where excitement echoed through the halls.
Media specialist Dani Johnstone expressed appreciation to everyone who helped make the event a “fang-tastic celebration of reading, creativity, and community spirit.”
