To celebrate their love of reading, kindergarten students at Mirror Lake Elementary School brought their favorite book characters to life. Using paint and their imaginations, they transformed pumpkins into literary treasures.
Students selected characters ranging from classic fairy tale heroes to current storybook favorites. After they found their favorite characters, they decorated their pumpkins to match. Each creation told its own story, reflecting the personality and reading interests of each young artist.
"This event was such a meaningful way for our kindergarten students to celebrate the stories that inspire them," said Nicole Martinez, kindergarten teacher. "Transforming pumpkins into beloved book characters encouraged creativity, strengthened their connection to reading, and allowed every child to shine in their own unique way."
