Arbor Station Elementary School recently hosted their annual STEM Night, engaging and
inspiring students and their families in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
During this interactive workshop, participants explored a variety of STEM activities designed to promote critical thinking, problem-solving and creativity.
Dedicated teachers and high school volunteers guided students through hands-on experiments and challenges that were both fun and educational. Students also had the opportunity to speak with High School students about careers in science, technology and engineering.
“It was an evening full of excitement, discovery and learning that ignited our student's interest in the world of STEM,” said Principal Dr. Emily Felton.
Fourth graders at Mirror Lake Elementary also participated in hands-on STEM activities, reinforcing their scientific knowledge of force and motion during their field trip to Sparkles. Students experimented with applying different amounts of force while pushing a skate and observed how those changes impacted speed and control. They also designed and built their own skates.
Following the lesson, students continued to apply what they learned about force and motion while skating, playing on the playground and participating in laser tag.
