The Douglas County School System achieved a remarkable 100% graduation rate for students completing Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education (CTAE) pathways for the Class of 2025. This achievement places DCSS above the state average of 98.45% and reflects the district's commitment to preparing students for college, career, and life beyond high school.
All Douglas County high schools achieved exceptional CTAE graduation rates. Alexander High School, Chapel Hill High School, Douglas County High School, and New Manchester High School each reached 100%, while Lithia Springs High School achieved 99%.
"Our CTAE graduation results speak volumes about the strength of our programs and the dedication of our students and educators," said Tekmekia Gilchrist, DCSS Executive Director of Career, Technical and Agricultural Education. "With a districtwide graduation rate of 100% and every high school achieving between 99% and 100%, we are proud to see our students graduate prepared for college, careers, and life beyond high school."
Superintendent Dr. Trent North emphasized the importance of CTAE pathways in student success.
"These results reflect our districtwide commitment to providing students with real-world skills and meaningful career pathways,” he explained. “CTAE programs engage students by connecting classroom learning to their future goals, whether that's higher education, skilled trades, military service, or entering the workforce. Our school system has intentionally created learning environments where every student can discover their strengths and build toward their chosen future."
The Douglas County School System offers CTAE pathways in all high schools, providing students opportunities to explore careers in several fields including healthcare, business, technology, engineering, hospitality, public safety, and skilled trades. Students can earn industry-recognized credentials, participate in work-based learning experiences, and develop leadership skills.
Georgia's CTAE program partners with industry and higher education to ensure students are prepared for life after high school. Career Pathway completers are equipped to pursue higher education through the University System of Georgia, Technical College System of Georgia, or other institutions, enter military service, accept apprenticeship opportunities, or immediately begin their careers.
