Alexander’s girls soccer team is coming off an Elite 8 playoff run, and coach Jason Cann said an
explosive, high-scoring attack has the potential to carry his Cougars even further in 2026.
Senior midfielders Brielle Delgado and Adelaide Kelly and junior forward Emory Pitts all made the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association All State Preseason Watch List.
Senior defender Collin Cantrell and junior goalkeeper Reece Holmes are also big keys this year for the Cougars, who won their first four games of the season.
Pitts (36 goals) and Delgado (32 goals and 18 assists) each scored more than 30 goals last year and are closing in on 100 for their careers.
Meadow Martin added eight goals last year as a freshman and should be even better this year, Cann said. And Kelly had 12 assists last year.
“The team should play an exciting and high-scoring style this season with the attacking talent we have returning,” Cann said.
Alexander finished second to Villa Rica in Region 5-AAAAA last year.
Cann said the region will be competitive again this year, but he believes his Cougars have the talent to come out on top.
“I am really excited about this team and the elite attacking talent we have,” he said. “We will play a high-scoring and exciting style and hope to score lots of goals this season, as we look to repeat our playoff run from last year and go even deeper.”
