Chapel Hill High School's girls' soccer team is coming off a banner year that saw the Panthers earn a state playoff berth while racking up 12 wins.

The Panthers lost two key seniors to graduation in Faryn Algarin, a center back, and Leah McLain, a midfielder.

Coach Shatyriah Crawford said top players this year include Delaney Jones, Lainey Herlihy, Kristin Green, Carolina Davis and Amani Franks.

"We are coming off an amazing ride last season," Crawford said. "Our girls have big shoes to fill, and I believe that they will do the job right."

Crawford added that the team's goal is to find its niche. Once the Panthers find their rhythm, she said, a state playoff run is the goal.
