Wing/Striker Lukas Carreno poses with Alexander High School Soccer Alumni and current Mt. Zion Head Coach Sam Eskew Camp after scrimmage match with Mt. Zion.

Chapel Hill High School's boys’ soccer team is looking to make its sixth consecutive playoff appearance behind a group of veterans and talented newcomers.

The Panthers are led by captains Princeton Robinson, a senior right back, and Danny Maravilla, a junior center midfielder, coach Matt Leach said.

“The biggest strength of our team actually might be our youth,” Leach said. “Many of these players are super excited to have an opportunity to compete at the varsity level.”

Leach also spotlighted junior wing/striker Lukas Carreno.

He added that three freshmen midfielders — Diego Govea, Kasen Reid and Neymar Barron-Franco — will get significant playing time this year.

Leach said he expects Region 5-AAAAAA to be “very tough, especially with Carrollton,” but he still believes his Panthers can be competitive.
