Rising freshmen in the Douglas County School System got their first look at their soon-to-be high
schools during the annual Freshman Expo events on March 12.
All five DCSS high schools and the College and Career Institute hosted Freshman Expo events for members of the Class of 2030. Incoming freshmen learned about various academic programs and extracurricular activities, met school staff, asked questions, and engaged with current students during the event. Nearly 2,500 rising freshmen took part across the six campuses.
Superintendent Dr. Trent North said the event holds special meaning for him every year.
"Freshman Expo is one of my favorite events of the year because you can see the excitement on every student's face," North said. "These young men and women are the future of Douglas County, and we are proud to welcome the Class of 2030 into our high schools."
