The Douglas County School System is bringing the arts to life with a new festival designed to celebrate creativity and student talent while uniting the community for a day of fun.

The inaugural Festival of the Arts will take place on Saturday, April 18, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Legacy Arena.

Those attending are encouraged to engage in hands-on, interactive experiences in both the performing and visual arts, while also enjoying student art exhibits and live performances featuring dance, choral music and drama.

“The Festival of the Arts reflects our commitment to the ‘whole child,’” said Dr. K’Asha Davis, Assistant Superintendent of Teaching & Learning. “It’s more than a celebration of talent. This festival highlights the link between artistic discipline and academic success. We invite families to see firsthand the high-level critical thinking, collaboration and rigorous engagement our students bring to life every day through the arts.”

In addition to student art and performances, the festival will include a blacklight experience, make-and-take tables, hands-on STEM activities and food trucks and other vendors.

Tickets are $5 per person or $10 for a family pass and can be purchased at https://www.vancoevents.com/us/DPBX

Interested in being a vendor? Submit your vendor interest form at https://forms.gle/17NnDcJKeBQLMDoj8, and a representative will follow up with additional details, including costs and next steps.
