Families roller skate during a special DCSS Family Night roller skating event called Roll Bounce.

Skaters of all ages filled the floor at Legacy Arena this past weekend as Roll Bounce opened its Superintendent Dr. Trent North roller skates during Roll Bounce at Legacy Arena.doors to students, parents, and the community. The event offered three days of skating fun designed to bring people together through music and connection.

The celebration kicked off Friday with a Douglas County School System Family Night. DCSS families were invited to lace up their skates during a dedicated session that ran from 4 to 9 p.m., with admission and skate rental included in the DCSS Family Pass.

"Seeing our students and families out on that floor, laughing and skating together, was exactly what this was about," said Superintendent Dr. Trent North. "I am proud of a school system that invests in joy and creates the kind of memories that remind our families they belong to something special here in Douglas County."

Dr. North was among the employees who hit the rink that evening for some fun of his own. The event continued throughout the weekend and included additional family-friendly activities such as Family Fun Skating, Teen Skating, and Tiny Tot Skating. A live DJ kept the magic going throughout the celebration.

Legacy Arena Senior Executive Director Ashley Cleveland said the event was the perfect way to glide into spring. "Roll Bounce brought together DCSS employees, their families, and community members for a fun and energetic celebration," she said. "The overwhelming feedback has been positive, with many asking for this to become a recurring event, and we're excited to make that happen."
