Dr. Tameka Scott is stepping down after 16 months on the Douglas County Board of Education.
Dr. Scott, elected to the board in 2024, is resigning to pursue her love of public education in a new leadership capacity.
Dr. Scott said leaving the Board of Education was a difficult decision.
“This is super bittersweet because I love serving Douglas County,” Dr. Scott said. “ l love all of the opportunities I have had to serve the students of Douglas County, but excited that I may have the opportunity to expand my influence by stepping into a new role.”
Board Chair Glenn Easterwood is grateful for her time on the board.
“We will always be grateful for Dr. Scott’s time on the Board and we wish her well as she pursues her passion for supporting students in a different capacity,” said Easterwood.
Dr. Scott’s decision to step down is effective April 29, 2026.
