The New Manchester High School Mighty Marching Jaguars have been invited to perform in the National Veterans Parade on Nov. 8, 2026, in Washington, D.C.

The prestigious honor reflects the dedication, discipline and musical excellence demonstrated every day, Director of Bands Lebarron Mcwhorter said.

"Performing in our nation's capital provides our students with an extraordinary educational opportunity," Mcwhorter said. "Beyond honoring America's veterans through music, this experience will allow them to showcase their talents on a national stage while developing leadership skills, broadening their perspectives, and strengthening their sense of civic pride. Representing Douglas County in such a meaningful national celebration is an accomplishment that will positively impact both our students and the community they proudly represent."

The Mighty Marching Jaguars are raising funds to help offset the cost of travel and participation in the national parade.
