New Manchester High School’s FAME Chorus is taking it to the top — literally — as they prepare to perform at the 2027 national conference of the American Choral Directors Association(ACDA).

“These last few years have been quite a journey in my career as a choral music educator and honestly, I’m still taking it all in,” said Choral Director Antwoin Holman. “What started as a calling to teach, inspire and create meaningful musical experiences has led to moments I could only pray and dream about.”

Under Holman’s leadership, the FAME Chorus program has participated in the 2025 GMEA Conference, 2025 Georgia ACDA State Conference, 2026 Southern Region ACDA and now they will take center stage at the 2027 National ACDA.

“From the state, to the region, and now to the national stage, what an incredible journey it has been,”Holman said.

The national ACDA conference represents significant achievement for choral programs across the country. Hundreds of middle school, high school, collegiate, and community choirs apply to participate, with only a select number chosen to perform. The Jaguar Singers will have the opportunity to perform for thousands of professional conductors, collegiate professors and music educators from across the country and beyond.

Principal Casey Bethel praised their work ethic and determination for rising to the top.

"It is easy to see that the chorus students are talented, but what stands out to me is how diligent they are,” Bethel said. “They are incredibly hardworking. Under Holman's direction, they rehearse constantly, so it’s rewarding to see them earn this opportunity."

The conference will take place March 7-10 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
