Douglas County first-year softball coach Torrean Walker is relying on three team captains this year as the Lady Tigers look to compete for a postseason berth.

Walker and assistant coach Rachael Lee, a Valdosta State graduate who played college softball for the Blazers, highlighted captains Adryanna Cole, Arissa James and Khloe Wilson at the recent DCSS Fall Sports Media Day.

Cole is a senior who plays third base and has worked hard to come back from injury, Walker said.

James, also a senior, plays center field. Walker called her the "heart and soul of our team," and said, "she does a really good job keeping everybody together and on the same page."

Wilson, a sophomore, plays the outfield, and Walker said she "brings a lot of great energy to the team."
