Forty-seven Douglas County School System (DCSS) students who earned perfect scores on one or more sections of the Georgia Milestones Assessment System (GMAS) End-of-Grade and End-of-Course tests were recognized by the Douglas County Board of Education during the Sept. 8 meeting.

The test is administered to students in grades 3 to 8 at the conclusion of the academic year, and to high school students at the end of four designated courses.

Douglas County High School freshman William Liu, who was crowned the 2026 DCSS Spelling Bee champion earlier this year, made perfect scores in two different sections as an eighth-grader at Chapel Hill Middle School.

All of the students received special trophies at the Board meeting for their academic achievements and had photos taken with Superintendent Dr. Trent North and Board of Education members.

DCSS proudly recognizes the following students for their perfect scores:

Elementary School: Lamin Demba, George Dotson, Bijan Hindsman, Vincent Nguyen and Micah Thigpen.

Middle School: Isaac Aiyesa, Elliott Bentley, Sidney Berryman, Sage Brown, Rachael Daniel, Nadjeda Hilaire, Cayla Johnson, Maya Johnson, Zion Juarez, Kialynn Krotzer, Aaron Liang, Nolan Miller, Mya Monford, Alexander Nguyen, Evelynn Smith, Mikel Street, Micaela Tesch, Sophia Turcios, Maximilian Walts and Luke Wilgenbusch.

High School: Mercy Adebayo, Joana Amir, Lucy Anderson, Aubrey Ellis, Jordan Felder, Morgan Jackson, Dallas Johnson, Reena Joshi, William Liu (two perfect GMAS scores), Michael McClain, Jordan Mitchell, Isaiah Morris, Addison Nickerson, Ozioma Okwumabua, Micah Parker, Francisco Perezcassar, Alexandria Pringle, Fatiq Raza, Trenton Taylor, Caleb Thomas and Cashton Vo.
