Douglas County families can now apply for free and reduced-price school meals through the district's online application system.
The application process opens today and uses the SchoolCafe mobile app available in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Parents and guardians can create an account, select "Apply for Benefits" and follow the step-by-step instructions to complete their application.

The Registration Office is partnering with Cobb & Douglas Public Health Department to help complete the required Certificate of Vision, Hearing, Dental, and Nutrition Screening (GA Form 3300) for incoming kindergarten students.
When: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on these dates:

Two Chapel Hill High athletes made their mark at the prestigious Wingfoot Meet of Champions earlier this month, bringing home incredible results that showcase the talent in our Panther track program.
Stephan Mitchell (left) blazed to victory in the 100m dash with a personal best time of 10.53 seconds, while Rashawn Wright (right) earned 8th place in the 400m with a strong 49.13 finish.
Competing against the nation's top high school athletes, both Panthers proved they belong on the biggest stage. Congratulations to Stephan and Rashawn on this amazing accomplishment!

Alexander High School To Host Junior Softball Camp June 23-24 🥎⚾
Young softball players entering grades 2-8 this fall can develop their skills at the 2025 Junior Cougars Girls Softball Camp hosted by Alexander High School's softball program. The two-day camp runs June 23-24 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Alexander High School Softball Field.
Registration costs $75, with all campers receiving a T-shirt, snack and drink. The camp will be led by members of the 2025 Alexander softball team.
Parents are encouraged to pre-register by June 2 to guarantee their child receives a T-shirt. Registration and payment can be completed by scanning the QR code on the flyer.

Young athletes invited to Jr. Cougar Football Camp June 10-11 🏈🔴
Robert S Alexander High School will host its annual Jr. Cougar Football Camp next month, offering elementary and middle school students an opportunity to develop football skills under varsity coaching staff.
The two-evening clinic runs June 10-11 from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. and welcomes boys and girls in grades 1-7.
Head Coach Cody Neal will lead sessions focused on building foundational skills and developing techniques in a fun environment.

MFM Market Returns This Saturday to Support Local Schools 🌱
The annual MFM Market returns this Saturday, May 17, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Alexander High School in Douglasville, bringing together farmers, artisans and community members to support local agricultural education.
Proceeds will directly benefit agricultural programs at Robert S Alexander High School and Bright Star Elementary .
This year, the event will host over 240 vendors including livestock, arts and crafts, raffles, food trucks, laser tag, an art show and the BSES chorus.

📣 Summer Cheerleading Camp at Alexander! 🎀
Young cheerleaders can learn chants, dances, stunts and tumbling from Alexander High School cheerleaders during a summer camp May 29-30.
The two-day workshop for ages 4-12 runs 9 a.m. to noon at the Alexander Auxiliary Gym. Cost is $80 per child.
Coach Leah Mathis will lead the camp alongside high school cheerleaders.
